Bringing Baby Home™ Workshops
Bringing Baby Home (BBH) workshops are for new and expectant parents who want a healthy transition to parenthood. From research, we know that a couple's emotional connection is the foundation for a baby's development, by deepening your friendship and understanding of each other as a couple as well as understanding your baby, you are giving your baby a wonderful gift.
My class sizes are small, 4 couples, to allow plenty of time to make sure your needs are met and you feel ready to use the ideas right away. Roughly half the workshop is practicing the concepts learned with your partner. The workshop is 12 hours long and we meet for two days over one weekend or two consecutive Saturdays.
After taking the workshop you will:
- know what to expect during the first weeks and months of parenthood.
- understand how your baby communicates his or her needs.
- know ways to improve your communication.
- have ways to strengthen your friendship, intimacy and regulate conflict in a positive way.
- have the tools to reduced the risk of postpartum depression.
- be a great parenting team!

Why take a Bringing Baby Home workshop?
The material is based on over 20 years of relationship research carried out by Dr. John Gottman and his team at the Gottman Institute. You are likely to be preparing for the birth of your baby, perhaps taking a childbirth class so you understand what to expect during labor and birth, taking a Bringing Baby Home workshop will prepare you for the birth of your family and for your new roles as parents. It will help you have the tools to build a strong family and a supportive relationship, to enable you to weather the ups and down of parenthood.
